A root over rock Ficus benjamina I've been working on. I think it might be 'nana' variety but not sure. Bought it as 'midnight' from Bunnings ages ago.
Need to start doing some major work on the top now, not quite sure how to attack it yet but I'll jump in feet first and see what happens. I think I'll start with a pretty major cut back to a few larger branches and see what shoots from there.
Cheers,
Dave.

Re: Root over rock Ficus benjamina
Just be aware that benjis are not as tough as many other ficus. They don't always bud from bare wood when chopped hard and don't always survive radical root pruning that PJ figs would laugh at.
Best of luck with it

Re: Root over rock Ficus benjamina
Good info, thanks. I've root pruned this one pretty hard before and it's always bounced back ok, but I'll keep it in mind. I'm kind of fond of this one now.
