I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

Just picked up a weeping ume after looking for one that didn't cost a bomb for about 12 months. I'll have a crack at cuttings and air layering this year and see what comes of it

The rocks at the base make a slender trunk much more interesting - well done! And the flowers always make me happy.

Thanks Gavin.
When I potted it up I saw the opportunity to do a little rocky scene and make it nicer while the trunk is still developing.
I’ll be letting it run to concentrate on thickening the trunk over the coming couple of growing seasons then I’ll air layer.
I just get sick of having everything in a black grow pot all the time.

Feels like we are almost beyond winter, but this single pink ume wasn't told about it, and couple of others are still haven't flowered yet

All my pink unease are opening at the minute. My whites did way back at the start of winter. Must be some genetic trait.

My golden plum...
still needs styling really but it is a fun challenge. It flowers well and carries fruit. I want to get more shape in the crown and maybe lower the trunk and widen/create nebari.
