[Tony Bebb] Buxus harlandii
Hi All
Bought this one from a nursery 2 years ago for $9 just because I didn't have one. I had planned to put it in the ground for a couple of years but didn't get around to it, so it sat on the shelf for a couple instead. Had a look at it today and liked the trunk, so thought I would add it in.

Re: [Tony Bebb] Buxus harlandii
Hi Tony,
I love this type of Buxus. The bark on the trunk is very nice and the tree is easy to cheap by the clip and grow technique. I'm building up heaps of stock of this type of Buxus and will be available in 1-2years time.
Cheers,
Chris

Finally got started on this one today.
Not much will change for a while till the new growth is established and gets some length to it.

Re: [Tony Bebb] Buxus harlandii
Didn't recover so well with sporadic aftercare. Not as many shoots as expected so rubbed them all off to keep this branch as the tree.
Hopefully it will get its strength back.

Thinned some leaves close to the trunk and wired a few branches. No tip pruning to allow continued growth and quicker setting. Will cut the stump when the growth gets stronger.

Re: [Tony Bebb] Buxus harlandii
Just another quick update from the light prune it had on the weekend.
The low shoot is getting stronger and will make a nice first branch. Time to reduce the number of branches above it as there is a group quite close together. This will also give more flow to the first branch.
Branch numbers reduced at the massed point and all tips pruned except for the apex and the first branch. Want to grow the top a bit now to strengthen the trunk before winter. I expect to get more shoots off this trunk to give the tree more structure. Also pruned the stump back by half.
