[Pat K] Acer palmatum
Species : Acer palmatum
Height : 130mm
Where obtained : Collected seed, Canberra.
Cost : Nil
This tree is in the centre of box of seeds sown in 2012. The majority of the seeds that germinated grew normally ie straight up, barring this tree which grew into this form without any external help (or hindrance).
It is still in the box of seedlings and will be picked out in August or September into a growing bed.
Regards,
Pat

Re: [Pat K] Acer palmatum
I had one identical that unfortunately dried up in the summer heat this year. How much movement do you think will be retained once it's grown on in the grow bed?

Thanks Paul, but it's not going to happen. While I'm looking forward to competing I've seen what the stars have achieved in the past...

I held off posting an update hoping for at least some new leaves. Not to be...spring is late in the mountains this year.

That is such a cute little guy. And the only Japanese maple in this comp too.
I look forward to seeing what you do with this one, and the pot choice.
