Re: NATURAL STYLE Competition RESULTS
Okay, all pots have been posted.
Crikey it costs a fair bit to send large pots interstate
This has been my first and last competition that I run.
Too much time and money.
But it has been fun to see so many people trying native material in a natural style.

It was just the large pots.
I would suggest if anyone is willing to step up and run the next comp, to just stick with small pots as prizes.

Mark, the challenge of the competition is enough for most of us any prize is a bonus, anyone that organises a competition has earned my respect, kudos to Rory and you for taking the time to run your comps.
Peter.

Re: NATURAL STYLE Competition RESULTS
Thanks Rory,
Received my pot in the mail today ...
Very appreciative of the effort and generosity, not sure the prize pool on offer in the 3 year comp I have going is quite in the same ball park, but it's about the journey people, not the destination!
It was certainly packed to ensure it arrived safe and sound too!
The irony of the whole thing is our local supermarket is a Woolies!!

Also confirming the pots have arrived safely.
My wife suggested I join my first ever competition after I hinted to her I really like the dragon pot (in hope I get one from her as a gift). I am thankful for all the effort over the last few years and would like to thank Rory for his generosity. Not to mention how much I've learnt from all participants.

Thanks Rory,
My pot arrived safely today. I echo R3s sentiments that you have been extremely generous. Looking forward to finding something to go in it.

NATURAL STYLE Competition RESULTS
Rory,
Again, a big, big thank you!
I am not sure I have the tree to match the quality of the pot but I gave it a go! It’s a Penny Davis pot, I think.
I bloody love it! Thank you and thanks to everyone for the feedback and the variation in all our entries. Wonderful stuff.

Re: NATURAL STYLE Competition RESULTS
Beautiful composition MJL and congrats!(to all)
One thing: My eye is drawn, and stays, on the straight jin - I think it would be less overpowering if it were shorter, like leaving 30-40%
(I have no knowledge of the natural growth habits of the tree, this is only based on the visuals)

Re: NATURAL STYLE Competition RESULTS
Hey Per PF,
Thanks for the feedback and I totally agree … when I was potting this up, I really struggled to work out the front and then, I lost ‘sight’ of the gun and I positioned the Jin so it looks straight!! Doh!! Yet it is curved …
that said, it’s always been a bit weird - the Jin - so I think I will shorten significantly in due course.

Re: NATURAL STYLE Competition RESULTS
We had a pot that my wife refused to let me sell, saying I had given it to her. So I had to cancel the order. I know what you mean.
I'm glad your wife loved the pots. They are perfect for natives too. I've also kept a few of those type of free form Pat Kennedy pots for myself, probably for some Melaleucas. Pat hated that they were nicknamed 'cowpat' pots. Funny, but not funny for such beautiful pots.
I'm glad you like it Terry. Your tree was a fantastic result.
I was planning on using it for a Melaleuca. Penny Davis' pots are magnificent for our natives. That style of hers in particular is a trademark of hers and is what I really love. Your entry was such a standout for me I couldn't have you not win a prize mate.
