Another Ozzie pot
The pot....made by an Ozzie potter, with Ozzie raku clay, glazed with Ozzie hardwood ash and as chip resistant as any stoneware pot made in any country....it's 320x260x70mm!
Cheers,
Pat...an Ozzie potter

Re: Another Ozzie pot
Some new potters around producing nice stuff but Pats' Mirkwood pots are quite special. I picked up one just like this a few months back (perhaps the same pot?)
A question for you,
I picked up a pot a few weeks ago, good quality but chipped And at least 10-15 years old. A sticker still in place "Made in Australia by Peter Foreward" has anyone heard of him?

A: Because we are not all there.

yep, that name rings a bell Gerard. he came onto the bonsai scene in Melbourne about 20 years ago and made some pots, then decided there was not enough interest.

Yeah I think if you want to get rich you would want to sell a different kind of 'pot'Brian wrote:yep, that name rings a bell Gerard. he came onto the bonsai scene in Melbourne about 20 years ago and made some pots, then decided there was not enough interest.
Beautiful pot, Pat! Love the colours.

Benefit is that every time you trim and prune, you do not throw the cuttings in the compost

Re: Another Ozzie pot
Hi Pat. I'm just wondering how long you've been throwing bonsai pots? Seems like you've been around for many years. A pioneer.

Hi guys...thanks for your messages...always appreciated!
I believe he is better known for his 'fine' art, Gerard.

As you've discovered, not the same, but if you can tell me the stock number of your pot (underneath the pot), I can tell you when it was made and the glaze.Gerard wrote:(perhaps the same pot?)
About 30 years, Peter. Seeing Gordon Duffett's pots in Peter Adams' maple book was the catalyst.Peterji wrote:wondering how long you've been throwing bonsai pots? Seems like you've been around for many years.
