I have just pricked out four boxes of these little forest oaks (Casuarina torulosa). I'm wrapped with the 100% strike rate from seeds I bought from rosscorp on Ebay for a couple of bucks. These will all be going into the ground when ready and grown on for a few years.

Re: Aren't they cute?
That's is very cool. I have collected some (as per Ray M) and have had an approx. 50% strike rate. Mind you, I didn't have all the gear Ray had so it's not exactly a copy... but then that just doubled my tree count - until I get my hand son them... Lol

Nice. Make sure there is drainage in those styrofoam tubs if you intend to leave them in there, so they aren't sitting in constant wetness.

Re: Aren't they cute?
It's just like magic! I'm still saving to build a greenhouse so, to get up & running, I resorted to growing in brocolli cases cut down to 18cm deep then completely wrapped in gladwrap so I could bring it all inside to the kitchen beside full length window. To mist I just used a squirter bottle and lifted wrap on one end when required. Crude but effective option considering we're up on tablelands and growing through coldest time of year. I'll be in piggy heaven when the greenhouse is completed!

Re: Aren't they cute?
Yes plenty of screened large drainage holes and coarse river sand (2-4mm) in mix. Only watered when condensation reduced which was evident on gladwrap covering. Now potted I'm taking them outside when its warm enough and slowly increasing exposure to light.
