Development of ericifolia
I bought this tree in 2005 as a standardized pot plant ( 1.7 Meters). The nursery was located in Young NSW and the owner/nurseryman had been experimenting with this plant for some years and wasn't happy with its progress.
When I got it home I reduced its size to a lower branch (in pic 1) which I suspect had developed due to neglect. ( Bonus for me ).
As you can see by the progression photos it has develop well over the years.

Love the shape Peter, It is great to see progressions of unusual native material being taken from raw stock to show bench bonsai in such a short time. Peter by posting this progressions I think you will have encouraged a lot of people (who live where it can be grown) to try Banksia ericifolia.

Its good to see 3 flower spikes this year.
Should be open in another 1-2 weeks.
I will post pic when they open.
I hoping to find a better pot over the winter.

Re: Development of ericifolia
Thanks Peter, you have again inspired us non-native people to have a go at our local flora. Will we see this at the native show in the couple of weeks?

Re: Development of ericifolia
Thanks guys,
Watto, Due to the organisers wanting fresh material and fresh blood I unfortunately withdrew this tree and one of my Eucs. This will be the first year I have missed out supplying one of my trees since the show began.
Disappointed , but there is always another show. I hope to have it a different pot next time it is shown.
