Just to cheer up all those freezing in the sthn states here is a picture of a lepto I bought 2or3 months ago
A bit early for spring flowers but we had a warm start to winter.
Not sure about the name might have the wrong tag on it!

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

G'day
Oops got the wrong name it is actually pink cascade which is a hybrid of l polygalifolium and either l scoparium or l continentale depending which authoritory you listen to
Hi Boics it has plenty of faults not the least of which is the long straight trunk to start I just cut it back to see what I had --I'll let it grow for a season or two. Gotta try and get the apex over to the right a bit more and try for a few branches to hide the trunk but we will see. I guess I'll find out out if it behaves like l scoparium when I give it a root prune

Re: Leptospermum lemon scents
They make fantastic 'LOOKING' bonsai. But be warned, fantastic is a relative term. Fantastic to look at, but more often that not, after a root prune, or a heavy top prune, you may find your bonsai is deadsai. Not the best material to work with. It is very temperamental. Never heard many people with much luck getting these varieties to adapt to bonsai life. I have also tried my hand at them, but they died before I even attempted to root prune. I cut back hard, and they never made it. I don't want to be a party pooper, because it is beautiful stock to attempt though, as I too fell in love with them, so if you can get them to survive the rigours of a bonsai....
