Arthur Robinson Workshop - YVBS
The Yarra Valley Bonsai Society is pleased to announce an opportunity to attend a workshop with Arthur Robinson.
Arthur has been growing bonsai since 1960 and gradually over the last 20 years has concentrated more and more on Satsuki, which have always been part of his collection. Currently he has 98% Satsuki and they number in the hundreds. He and two of his friends have brought in some choice varieties, some are very new with small flowers - which he is propagating and also is beginning to distribute.
Arthur has gathered a wealth of experience during his many stays in Japan, by visiting nurseries and spending time with some of the great Masters. He is an honored guest at one of Japan's main Satsuki producers where he is invited to work on some of their trees. The knowledge that he has gained is being passed on to Satsuki growers through the newsletter of “The Satsuki Society of Australasia Inc.” http://www.satsukisociety.com
He also has completed a book on Satsuki called "Satsuki - from cutting to bonsai ", which will eventually be produced as an E- Book, complete with videos to explain the growing techniques.
The Workshop
The workshop is open to anyone wishing to attend, but numbers are limited.
When: Sunday the 13th of November 2011

I totally agree - this is a great and rare opportunity for anyone interested in Azalea - not only Satsuki, but any variety and or size/age!
It’s not too often that Arthur visits Victoria … so don’t wait for too long, places are filling up quick!
The best way to learn is by participating hands-on under the master’s guidance -
is just filling the gaps.
I’ll be there - morning and afternoon!

We were lucky enough to attend his demo at the Perth convention - don't miss the chance to either participate or watch - you can learn so much and enjoy yourself.
Great opportunity if you anywhere near Melbourne.
