[Solved] What is this tree?

Post by daiviet_nguyen »

I bought this tree a very long time ago from the hardware store for about $3.00 or so. It was labelled crabapple.
I have been told differently when others saw it. I have no longer been certain what it is anymore:

What do you think?

Thank you and best regards.

Hi Daviet_nguyen.

Yeah, its a Malas (Crabapple) more likely - Malus tschonoskii (Pillar Apple)

It usually throws people off its Species, as its known in Hort fields to be "The Crabapple that does not look like a Crabapple"

In its natural state, It would reach a height of about 8 1/2 meters and a width of around 4 1/2 meters.

Hope this puts your mind at ease,

Warmest regards,
