Albury Wodonga keep business to a minimum - exec members take care of the little that needs doing- so we can concentrate on practical bonsai topics at meetings.

To develop the topics for each meeting we draw up a list of topics at the start of the year that members would like to explore, fit them to months of the year and allocate each topic to one or more members to facilitate.
As our group is small, with an even smaller pool of experienced growers we do not have the luxury of always having an expert presenter. A member does not need to be an expert to facilitate a topic. Some choose to research then present the results to the other members, Sometimes we use a round table discussion to share and explore old or new ideas, Sometimes the more experienced members are asked to demonstrate or talk about a subject.

We always allow time after the monthly topic for practical bonsai. Members can bring in trees to work on, to ask opinions on or just to tell others how or why it was developed.

:bump:
This will be a fun day, as it is the first meeting.
Be apart of this clubs history and come along, there is many people who have never done bonsai before and others who don't know much. So I'm doing a demo on some projects that I started within the year to show those you can have decent bonsai in a short period of time.
If you are in the area please come along.

Had a good first real meeting, we discussed heaps of topics from different plants in different climates, soils, workshop days to the future of the club. we also got to know each other over coffee and tea.
Thanks all for turning up.
I would also like to thank Bonsai Panda (steve) and Phill for making it today, they both drove up from Nowra, they both are a good couple of blokes who are very keen, Thanks Guys

Hi Mick and the gang,
Had a great time yesterday. The group made us welcome like old friends from the start. Had some nice trees to look at and admire. Talked for hours with some very knowlegeable folks. Phil and I came away with a wealth of information and shared ideas. This is what it is all about in a club of pationate Bonsai artists. Already looking forward to the next meeting  :tu2: Anyone near the Southern Highlands would do themselves a real favour getting along to a meeting of the SHBG.

Regards Panda
PS: Was a 4 hour round trip (worth every minute) :tu:
