Variegated elm, how to take a root cuttings?

Post by Hornet »

I got given this variegated elm a couple of weeks back, it looks like it could make a good shohin broom in the future. Only issue is this big root poking out of the pot, how would i go about using it as a root cutting?

If you sever it from the trunk and pull it back from the main trunk with a piece of wire it will grow on its own. Next repot just shake it loose and you will have another tree.,
