(non bonsai) Curious Tree..

Post by NaturalSelection »

This is not really bonsai related but... Curious about this tree i found looking through the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá on google earth...It looks like its been malformed by something tied to it at an earlyer stage. The stone under it is parralel to the temple ruins next to it, maybe something was hanging?, a stone tablet, a bell.. :lost:

These are the ruins next to it

Well I found it interesting, why not share :) Anyone else curious by what could have caused this tree to grow this way?

yeah, it was much easier to see on google earth!, and my snap shots are pretty crap!. (What i'm looking at is the tree that is angled to the right, just before where it forms two trunks it looks like it was strangled for a long time.)
It's not pretty and looking back now, it's not even all that interesting!, sorry.
However google earth panoramas are outstanding! :D
