Bonsai hedge

Post by Bretts »

I think I posted this in "Drop in on Sunday" thread when I first started it some months back. It is starting to take shape so I thought I would post agian.
Dan Barton had one of these in a book for a bit of fun and since I had a few dwarf honeysuckle about that are great minature hedge material I thought I would give it a go. Glad I did it is alot of fun and might make a great accent one day :)

Very nice Bretts. I love the idea. I have many Japanese Box cuttings, think i'll try one myself. Looks like fun.

That looks fantastic, always wondered what it would look like in Bonsai form what an art well done. I reckon if you add a white picket fence if front, it would look so good. Thanks for the inspiration. :tu:

Looks great, i've always thought of doing a bonsai topiary, mini "lollypop" ficus or something simple along those lines

You've inspired me to try this, I couldn't get honeysuckle so I opted for Murraya instead. Did you have to wire the bottom branches to get the hedge low enough, or did you achieve this through continual pruning?
