Hey Gunjanpandey,

I havent had much luck with the Aussie boabs with cool summers of late and my position on the Aussie continent, but I have had good success with South African species (A. digitata). In my wanderings I found this, according to 'Joedoheny' from bonsaitreeforums.com concerning the SA boab

" Pruning:

The tree may be pruned throughout the summer provided it is needewd. It is not necessary to apply sealants to the cuts.

{He does mention rubbing "Blue death"

On to the raw cuts of the roots when pruning. I assume any sealant would work}.

Branches must be facetiously wired gradually during the queenly growing phrase, other wise they will grow straight. Because the branches are soft it is advisable to protect them with raffia to avoid wire damage. Weights hanging on the branches or pull down guides can be used to train the branches. "

Hope this helps, I have been putting on several pairs of kid gloves when handling my A. gregorii. Funnily enough, I have a few spp. from Madagascar as well, but they seem to be hardier than the Aussies, and I would have thought it the other way around. :lost:
