Juniper Pinching

Post by marcela »

Hi all,
Having a couple of days off next week and was planning on pinching back a few of my junipers as I've not had any time prior to now, just seen the weather forecast for monday tuesday and its going to be around 35 both days.I'm I better off not to do them with such heat coming on or will they cope ok? I plan to keep them out of the extreme sun for a few days afterwards.
Any help much appreciated. :fc:

I pinch and trim mine all thru summer with no ill effects. they should not need any protection after trimming

Ken is quite right although conditions are a little different in Melbourne. After pinching leave the tree in dappled shade to avoid the browning off which makes it look untidy. You can drape a bit of shadeclothe over it if no dappled shade is available.
