Pinus Mugo var' Mugho

Post by alpineart »

Well i had a visit for a few days from the Hackers , Sonic976 and the Boss, so i managed to get out and about . We visited Shibui's Nursery at Yackandanda where the Hacker picked up a few tree's and trunks , looking forward to visiting Bodhidharma's Nursery at Daylesford in February when the legs off and running , hopefully with me in tow . I decided to get the lead out and chase Mike from Beechworth an avid collector on Conifers and Pines . Yes true to his word he sold me another Mugho's and low and behold its a blue bugger .

That's right i now have a green

and a blue Pinus Mugho,

a subtle blue hue but together they are like chalk and cheese . This was a blessing in disguise , while i have slip potted the green tree this is still in its 250mm pot . These two tree's are about to be hacked , chopped , twisted and contorted like those natural tree's they collect in the Northern Hemisphere . all will be revealed in the next few weeks .The Hacker suggested cutting back and shaping , but Alpine's got them styled already  .

I had better take a concrete pill and toughen up a bit so i can leg it around the yard , these two will take some serious work to obtain the trainers i want for a couple of future stunning Bonsai !!!

Cheers Alpineart

Hi kc , its going to be well worth the effort . The pick and axe were the tools of choice i allowed the Hackers use on his visit , but not on these tree's .

Hi Dario , on crutches for 2 more weeks then its full steam ahead.!! I hope . Happy new year to you too ..

Cheers Guys .Alpine
