I knew a parcel was on its way but I was soo excited to see the local parcel girl pull into my driveway this morning. She was not gentle swinging the bag around I half expected her to throw it in the air & catch it again. Needless to say I grabbed it from her double quick, hurried in to open it & this was what I found...
Pup, A huge thankyou, these 2 will have pride of place in my collection. Expect me to annoy you with questions galore as & when the time comes I feel ready to make them my own.
Matt
The first is Ulmus davidiana (japanese cork bark elm) that stands just 75mm (3") tall, the second is a species I have long wanted for my collection, a Melaleuca rhapiophylla standing just 125mm (5") tall. Given they have spent 5 days in the post and the rough treatment, both trees arrived without a leaf out of place. They are now resting in a spot that gets morning sun & afternoon shade. Over the course of the next week or 2 I will slowly move them over until they reside with the rest of my collection. What came in the post today...

Re: What came in the post today...
Matt you certainly did earn them and as Craig has pointed out M,CUTICULARIS, had to shout as I am deaf.
Your cuti is showing the back as I set it, but it is yours now so you can decide you like that side better if you wish.
As for rhapios I am runnig short of those. So you will have to wait.
Cheers mate and again thank you, by the way the haze has nearly gone, so only using my puffer sparingly

Ooops... my bad.... or maybe NOT.. Mr Pup I wish I had a scanner to show your letter, no matter I have the right name now
Here is the front as you set it.. It will be a while before I do any work but this could be a possible new front. Matt

Yes I know, that is why I shouted my BAD. Yes they do shoot from old wood, though not always where you want, and some times you do have to wait.MattA wrote:Ooops... my bad.... or maybe NOT.. Mr Pup I wish I had a scanner to show your letter, no matter I have the right name now![]()

You have no idea how much I love your short supply of rhaphs right now. I have been sat with 'Qt' on my desk for the last hour. The ramification & structure are amazing for a cutting only 12mths old.
My bad I had to have a little poke around the roots to start forming a few ideas for styling. Then I did a google search for pictures in the wild & what comes up but similar to what was in my head.http://florabase.dec.wa.gov.au/browse/profile.php/5900 The tree on the left

Re: What came in the post today...
G,evening ,Matt hmm not bad Eh!. This particular species was one of the first taken back to the UK by Joseph Banks in 1792 , it was grown initially under glass then planted out and is still being grown in Cornwall out to all the elements that can be thrown at it one of the hardiest of all .MattA wrote:You have no idea how much I love your short supply of rhaphs right now.
