Toowoomba Bonsai Group_guest tutor Tony Bebb this Saturday

Post by Stewart_Toowoomba »

Toowoomba Bonsai Group Inc. next meeting is to be held this Saturday 3rd March at the CEDAR Centre, 36 Baker Street Toowoomba (which is the old Toowoomba Education Centre building), 9am - 4pm (lunch: bring a plate if possible)

This month is a special meeting for us, as we have guest tutor Tony Bebb (Ausbonsai member :tu: ) visiting for a workshop in the morning, followed by lunch and then a demonstration on a tree (to be raffled later) beginning at 1:30pm. There is another workshop to be held as well on Sunday 4th March from 9am to noon.

The small cost to observe during the workshops is $5.00, but Tony's demonstration on the club tree at 1:30pm is free :D

We are very pleased to have Tony back to demonstrate and support our group in 2012. His sessions are always keenly received and his expertise is greatly appreciated (and applauded)

Anyone interested in learning more about the group and those just wanting to have a look are most welcome to attend. For more information please phone the president Jeff Smith on 07 - 4635 5185 or flick me a PM.

Day one of the workshop has finished and a terrific time was had by all :D

Tony Bebb progressively worked on about 15 trees throughout the first workshop. Some pics will be posted (when i get chance to post them.) :palm:

There were about five new people attending today and Tony commented on the many new members since his visit last year.

The demo tree - a juniper had previously been heat damaged sitting on a car seat in transit. However Tony was able to overcome this adversity and discuss the options and find the tree within. The group actually decided which way it would progress, hence the chop! Tree to be raffled in two months. :fc:

Also on show was the demo tree he worked on back in 2011.

Thankyou Tony :hooray: for your great inspiriation, honest yet gentle advice, as well as a generous amount of humour :tu:

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.
