[SOLD] yamadori, Melbourne

Post by rowan »

Hi all,

I have to go to Geelong/Melbourne on Sat 10th March with an empty van and thought that I could maybe pay for my petrol by taking over a van full of yamadori and some tubestock and other stuff to sell. I live in the middle of nowhere and many people prefer to see trees before they buy so I figure this is a good way to show people what I have.

They will be mostly olives and hawthorns with a few other species mixed in and a range of prices for all budgets. See my website for a few examples. I will be bringing over a couple of trees that are too big or awkward to post as well.

I do have a problem though. I am too nervous to drive in Melbourne so I thought I would stop on the western side, maybe werribee perhaps. Anyone know a good (and easy to get to) place to stop and park my van for the day there to show my trees? I really don't feel like driving in a crowded place :|

Cheers Rowan

I've had a look at Google maps and think that the best place to park will be at Chirnside Park in Werribee. I will be in a white van and parked either next to the oval on Watton st, or just across the round-about on Watton st. There seem to be some nice, shady trees there.

I hope some of you can come along, even just to have a chat - I don't often get the chance to talk bonsai face to face as I don't meet many bonsai enthusiasts over my way.

Cheers,
Rowan

Sorry, most of the day - say 10am till 4 pm I reckon. I have nothing else to do on Saturday so I may as well spend it reading and meeting people. I hope it isn't hot.

I work in the city and won't get back to Werribee until after 6. I wouldn't want you to wait for me in case I don't buy anything I wouldn't think it's fair. And if I get caught back at work it will be even later.

Hi Rowan, how did it go for you? Was Daylesford on your way home? We could of had a chat, although we did have a bushfire yesterday. I will call in next time i am heading down to the beach.

Just bumping this thread as a reminder. I will be at Werribee (Chiltern Park) from 10am till around 4 pm, Saturday 10th March.
I will also have a heap of young $5 trees as well as the older yamadori if anyone is interested.

Sorry Bodhi, you must of got the date mixed up and I didn't see your last post. I have some extra time to head up to Daylesford and would love to meet if you can spare the time on Sunday. Let me know 0401 203 447

It makes me sad you aren't coming to Sydney, but at least the plants will go to more capable hands. Good luck!
