Gday all,
I have recently moved to Brisbane and am now, sort of, settled in and looking for a bonsai club. We are living in the Kenmore/Chapel Hill area, so looking for something vaguely nearby if possible.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Also looking for places to harvest wild growing trees in and around Brisbane - I have never tried digging up a larger plant and turning it into a bonsai, but have a few mates who have done it with great success. Are there any areas around Brissie that are good places to do this? Any bonsai clubs that have field trips for this purpose?
Cheers in advance.

Re: Bonsai club in Brisbane
Im from Brissy too live at The Gap. If you do find out where to harvest trees from I would love to know. Been at it for 5 years now but unfortunately dont know of any clubs in the northwest area, we could probably start one up ourselves
.
On a more serious note if I do know of some good places where you could get plants and pots cheeper than at the local nurseries. Its about an hours drive up sunshine coast way. The 2 places I go to are called Bonsai World and Northside Bonsai.
Regards
Z.

Hey Dark.....will deffi be going to the Mt. Coot-tha to have a look. Am going this weekend to have a look at shade houses in Cleveland. My collection is getting too big for the shelves I have on the side of my house
So might need to get some more stuff for the new shade house, wife permitting offcourse
