I was looking for information on Dorothea Mackellar and came across this image:

It is a perfect scene for an Australian pot-landscape. The wire-fence is particularly romantic (for me anyway).
-- There are no horizontal branches on that old gum tree.

Re: A gum tree
Hi Daiviet , there are plenty of gums that inspire me up here . The ovens highway runs from Wangaratta to Omeo . Its now known as The Alpine Way . I have been meaning to take some pics but i forget the camera , not all gums have drooping branches thats true . Cheers Alpineart

Re: A gum tree
This is a perfect example of the way gums grow with ascending branches to minimise the amount of heat they're exposed to during our long hot summers.

Hay Bosnia Brudders. I thingk Gumtree inspiration should be taken from large dead trees, Red gums or what ever.
This is only my opinion, I do think the images of living gums look good and show nice canopies but the the dead ones show the main larger 3 or 4 branches and then the canopy is up to YOU, Imagine the designs that you could come up with the trees in this image ... Just my thoughts

Re: A gum tree
Looks like, and reminds me of the trees that call "Lake Eildon" and "Bonnie Doon" home... "Ahhh the serenity!"
