Hi Guys , thanks for all the positive feedback . In time as the stick turns grey it should stand out and the foliage will no doubt take off , these junipers have been severely neglected and are all related to one of my other Phoenix Grafts .The original stock is about 20 years old .

Now one thing i don't want to hear is , you cant do anything with shitty sticks in pots .Believe me i wouldn't buy these kinda plants but some new comers do and their use is only limited by your imagination . Chalk one up for "sticks in pots" .

Hi Cre8ivbonsai ,total finished item is 29 kg. not too heavy to move but way to heavy for some rouge to pinch . I reduced the rock weight to 18 kg from 35kg original prior to carving , plants and bonsai mix make up the rest . Iwill try a polystyrene pot rock for the next challenge , helium is a bit hard to work with but i have used balloons as moulds something i must try again .

Very Very lookin peace of work you have there, do you think Me Combie will be able to haul it back down the hume freeway to frankston the next time I'm up your way I should I bring the heavy hauler up there just in case it a little on the heavy side

Just 1 do the little dragon's hangin of the side have there root's going into the main pot or are they just going to run down the out side in there own soil

Hi The Hacker , if your coming up i had better dyna bolt the bugger down and weld the head up so you can move it .

It certainly came up as a reasonable trainer from an idea on Tuesday to completion by Friday . The 2 side upright tree's have independant pots with drain holes and the 2 cascade in the front have a drain/watering hole drilled upwards tapped into the main pot .

If this tap hole doesn't work i will remove them and carve out a pot hole for each and drain hole back into the main pot .The root of the 2 cascades flow down into the 25mm deep crevices , a mix of my bonsai blend and spagnum moss with a dash of red clay to hold it together .

When it comes to root pruning i will utilise Ted Poyntons method of using a clean cutting self boring auger drill to remove plugs and re-fill with fresh bonsai mix . An old trick Ted showed me many moons ago . He used it on Group planting as well when he was under the pump at re-pot /rootpruning time . It works very well and would do very well in this situation .

I removed the small plants as they just aren't playing the game needed. Now I'm thinking of carving some hideous faces into the rock and put it in the fairy tale or fantasy class . Better just leave it alone and call it a Penjing , until a better idea comes along .

Hi Brian , mate coming from you I'll take that compliment in the highest regards . Its certainly in the making , hope i can keep up the expectation . Juniperus Sabina /Savin Junipers can be very touchy until they settle their roots in then they tend to grow well . I will use the holes to root prune the bugger as per "Old Teds" method .
