Great looking tree Alpine. I have been following the other threads and have seen some nice examples and I recon yours is a rippa too mate
Love the trunk and nabari. Nice branch structure too and the broom style seems to suits the species, Pat on the back

Now that is a ripper of a broom... I take it you are going to give it a bit more attention now, I would if it was here

I found this today in Mums garden.
I water her plants that the hose reaches when watering my Bonsai and would you believe that I have never seen this until today, it looks like the same type of plant.
She has no idea what it is and neither do I. Dose any one know, Thanks Dave.

Re: Portulacaria -Inspired by MattA
Hi Guys , after a 5 minute chop and re-pot ,i will give it a bit of care now , the cooks on my case to look after it . It has never been watered in the time if have had it apart from the rain , never did like these weeds but a little bit of inspiration goes a long way and a change in attitude helps .
Hi Booga , i would say its of the same family but wouldn't have a clue as to which type .I always called these Jade or Money tree's .Hasn't helped for the monetary income , Feng Shui "one at the front door" , all my money goes out the back door.
Cheers Alpine

Money tree, Now that would be a bonsai
For a succulent they seem to handle very little water. Mum has one in a pot with a hand full of soil and it will go a week without water, go figure.
Did you know that there is really a money tree! yeah its called marijuana
Must try it one day

It is actually called Crussula gollam, not as good to use as C. ovata, because of the shape of the leaflets. However there are quite a few Cussulas with smaller leaflets than C. ovata

Re: Portulacaria -Inspired by MattA
sorry Hornet, bot Crassula ovata has large rounded fleshy leaves and Crassula gollum (correct spelling) has finger like flesshy leaves. C. gollum is often miss labled C.ovata or C ovata 'gollum' which are wrong.
this is C.ovata this is C. gollum .
and yes, there are 100's of Cassula varieties, but these 2 varieties are probably the most common found in gardens.

Re: Portulacaria -Inspired by MattA
Sorry got off the track there. Alpine, very well done. On these you can cut half way between 2 joints, usually 2 new shoots will grow from the remaining joint and the end will dry up and full off leaving a very clean scar. This happens with larger branches and trunks also.
