Camellia Prop from Cuttings

Hi Folks

I would like a little advise re the bottom heat temperature for Camellia semi ripe cuttings.

I have just received some Camellia cutting material with more to come.

I am using 21°C as my soil temperature (thermostatically controlled) but have been speaking to some local folk in ChCh, NZ and they say this is far too hot. They recommend 12°C now, lowering to around 5-6°C by the shortest day.

However doing a scan of Camellia sites on the net, the concensus is 65-75°F (18-24°C).

What do you folks use?

Hi Fred,

I usually just whack em into some propagating mix and chuck them in the shadehouse, they usually strike without any further assistance, but then I am in Australia and realize temps are a bit different down south.

Gday Fred. I would go by the info you found on the web, It sounds like a good temp
