compression by wire

Post by Pup »

I have had this shimpaku for about 5 years from a cutting. Not a bad little semi cascade, however I thought maybe it needed some twists and some compression so I did that.

I am quite pleased with the result. The pot is a Stone Monkey pot from the UK.

Here are some pics of before and after.

Cheers Pup :)

Hi Pup , very nicely done . Thats a fine cutting also ' Ithink i will have to change my behavior a get seriously into Mini's , Mame and Shohin . Got plenty of shohin trainers just need to spend time on them . Nothing like a little bit of inspiration to get a bloke motivated .

PS
Hi Pup

Have just been studying it some more & this is only my opinion but I think the head need's to be lowered down to the height of the highest point of the trunk or maybe a little lower, I think it would make it a little more balanced

Nice tree.
Would like to see the other side. I think a view of it turned about 120 deg to the left might be real nice too.

Reminds me of Jows posts from a few years ago about twisting and bending small trees to make great stock.

I also noticed that when I posted it, and I agree it does need to drop a bit. It will be done soon as it settles in.

Thanks for the comments, Pup
