hi guys,
i would like to get some ideas as to what and where to go with this Callistamon aerial layer that was taken in early December last year.
The height is 84cm and diameter of the nebari is 6 & 1/2cm.There is another photo somewhere of its layering . I will post it up when i find it. Not a hundred percent sure of its front either as there could be two of which to choose. I really would appreciate some other ideas. So please feel free to help me out. cheers!

Hi Petra, Take it off at the top thin branch going to the right for your new leader and then tilt the tree to the left at your next repot. Maybe remove the heavy left hand branch and that will give you your trunkline. Hope that gives you food for thought. I based this on the first photo by the way.

I think its a little tall for the width of the trunk. I think if you cut it off at the thinkish left branch and tilt it toward the right at the next re-pot you will get a better tree. As it is there is not a lot of movement in the trunk and this will give you some.
It looks healthy and appears to be growing strongly.

Hi Petra I would chop it at the first branch on the left in the first photo. Wire that branch up for the new leader as much as possible ( I know the old wood is hard to move) That will give you better taper in the trunk. Tilt it over to the right slightly on next repot.

Not sure how easy they are to air layer but maybe worth a try just above that first main branch & if it work's guess what you have two tree's for the price of one

Easy and Quick to layer, and will do quite well as a hardwood cutting too.
