Ugly Betty

Post by fiveoffive »

Hi Guys

Ugly Betty here was given to me about 6 months ago.
The tree was sold to some friends of mine ( in poor health ) and from a nursery.
It was then gifted to me.

I have waited till now to repot the tree as it was sick. Placed in new large pot with new soil and removed some dead roots.
As you can see the top of the tree is growing ok ( that large long area) but the rest is very poor.

Any Ideas on how to style it up and get it back into a good looking healthy tree.

I have came up with this idea but i have another tree in this style and was hopeing for something ells.

Any help would be great as my friends are for ever asking how ( Ugly Betty ) the Tree is going.

It's hard to tell for sure, but it seems the main trunk may have more movement from a different angle. So, a couple of extra pictures from other angles would probably help the helpful stylists around here. Sorry I cant add any more.

cripes... that's an interesting looking tree! would gradually trimming the 'top' from the very tip down over a few growing seasons promote enough/any backbudding further down the trunk? I'd be looking at getting as much energy as possible to growing out the trunk and some branches... just my thoughts though. More pics would be good too yeah.
