My new olive

On the way back from an appointment drove down a dirt road an came across this tree it had been cut back an half pushed over by work men doing something to a near by power pole. Drove home came back with my digging tools an 10 mins later it was in the car an was heading home. Thinking of a slanting tree out of this one some drift wood up top end up about 70-80cm depends on how far i lean it over. Only trouble is i didn't have a big pot for it so had to cram it into what i had gave it a good drink of seasol an now Waite a few months to see what shoots i get hehehe.

Did a quick drawing what i might aim for but the top of the picture isnt quiet right the new top will need to follow the leen of the trunk i think

nice pot im guessing your suffering from the issue of collecting more trees than you have pots, i seem to always be in that predicament
Really nice tree but, has a very powerful looking base.

Hi Matlea that one next to this new one is also a olive collected it about 3 weeks ago i think now click the link it should take you to it looking at doing a twin trunk with it but this may change depends on where it shoots from tho

with the amount of stock you are gathering....do we expect to see bottles of bonsai oil in the future?
maybe I need to give you a corner of my block to grow on? tis 25 acres with 2 x permanent creeks

Hi Paul no olive is safe where i live but do need to get bigger pots tho next weekn bringing home an olive that i dug up 18yrs ago need to get a half wine barrel for it first . It only just fits in one . Trunk is hollowed out you can put your arm in one side an out the other if i cant get it home then ill post pictures

Olive, Picked up one last week that has brilliant potential, its 9 years old to my certain knowledge, was already too big to dig when I moved in, but I got older and more cunning so have lifted it and now soaking. It has been grazed by sheep and goats, so naturally nibbled. The best end has a trunk 4 inches diameter, all twisty and gnarled.
If anyone wants to give it a home, its yours for the cost of getting here. I dont really want such a big one, but it could be a great tree.
