The School of Bonsai Student sale day

Post by kcpoole »

This Sunday 29th April, 10am - 12pm?, Is the Annual School of Bonsai Student sale.

Location is Ray Nesci Bonsai Nursery, Sagars Rd, Dural.

Ray and Clinton, host a sale day where all the Members of the School, can purchase a table, and sell off any stock or trees that they no longer need or want.
Most tables are filled with Trees, Pots and anything else Bonsai related they no longer wish to work on, or need to sell off to make room for new purchases :-) .

Usually some very good buys to be had and some serious haggling going on as well.

The criterion for sellers, is no Seedlings or new cuttings, so usually semi advanced, preworked or collected material available at cheap prices

@Velvetsickid There's also a show and sale on at Penrith Police & Community Youth Club at 9:30-4:30 on the same day, so if you do decide to come down you might want to check out both. :imo:

Just a reminder the sale day is on today 9am till 12 midday.
I went thru my benches yesterday and found some trees to put up too so I will have at table too :-)

I was out yesterday and found a large area of land that has been earmarked for more Suburbia in the next couple of months to a year, and there are Lots of trees that will be destroyed in the process and will have to save so I need to bench space to put them. Will see h0ow we go and what sells

Home no after a sucessful day.
We had about 10 sellers with a table each and lots of stuff to choose from. several year old cuttings, to Very advnced stock and some tree nering the "finished" state in Bonsai pots, all at really good prices ( too cheap peter!).

A few people sold out completely, and everyone sold quite a few tress to keep the benches turning over :-)

Great day

I am going to go out on a limb here and say once a year given it's the annual student sale.

Maybe???

Well I did manage to go to Ray Nesci today, I saw this huge trunked american redwood (not sure on the name) for under $100 and I wanted to buy it, but couldn't fit it in the car and I didn't have enough money either. Maybe next year I guess.
