Some thing to dremel

Post by Olivecrazy »

Had my eye on this tree for a few weeks now :shifty: :shifty: early today had phone call sayoing my seasonal work is starting Monday where i work 7 days 10hr days :palm: but money is good :hooray: so decided i needed to collect this one today
I have a few reasons to collect this material as its not the best but in time most trees can be made into a bonsai :tu: .

Main reason is i wanted a tree that has a lot of dead wood looking around this was the best i could find :D . Ill be getting a dremel soon an wanted some thing to practice on . Ive done a little with my dads dremel but only on a piece of wood but on bonsai will be much different cant just flip the tree over etc    .
Another reason is i have always like dead wood in bonsai i can remember looking in books when i was a kid an thinking i have to work on getting something like that :D . I see olive as a great resource for this kind of work as old junipers an pines are few an far between in Oz .
I think this tree will give me some valuable experience in carving dead wood :fc: :fc: . If the carving looks good ill train a new trunk following the the red line in the picture then go from there ;)
