[Sale] BONSAI POT SALE

Hi all
I have only found out tonight, that the Sydney City Bonsai Society, are having a pot sale. I know nothing more than the details below, so if you can elaborate with more info, Photos etc then please post a follow up item.
ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY TO BUY OLD (20 years plus) POTS
Entry to sale $2
About 400 old bonsai pots will be offered for sale at prices ranging from $2 to $35
At least 50% of the pots are Japanese, of the quality hard to find these days. Average size 9” (20cm)

All interested persons are invited to meet in the car park in Rainbow Street, (opposite Forsyth Street) Kingsford between 10:45 – 11:00am on Saturday 12 May 2012

At 11:00am you will be taken to the sale

BYO boxes for carrying and plenty of money.

Meet in the carpark and then get taken to the sale place, sounds a bit cloak and dagger :o Wish i was there, sounds like fun :roll:

Nah mate, they are in Baulkham Hills near here. They own most of it I think :o

I canot make it tomorrow, but will be interested to see the pots on sale tho.

Hmm would have liked to get to this one, need lots of good pots for the comming season. :(
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

I was fortunate enough to be able to go along, it was a deceased estate and the family members were running the sale with assistance from the Syd City Club.

It was good to see some lovely pots going to good homes where they will be used and appreciated- not tossed in the bin which can sometimes happen in this situation. I purchased a few pots, rocks, books and a small stand. I don’t know if any pots are Japanese but I just bought ones I liked and knew I’d use, as I don’t have many at all.
