Re: jbp1
It will evolve as we go through the seasons. I had left it alone the last 2 years after a rework of roots and repot and so this is the effect of decandling this time of the year. (Although started the apex's a month ago) So yes as new buds come to light in spring it will look different by summer. Right now i have deliberately styled this way to gain extensions and more back budding, therefor allowing maximum light into all. Im not so hell bent on aesthetics as i am developement for now. However i too feel it looks damn good for now !squizzy wrote:Love the change.

Yeah I guess I was refering too the broad top on it so getting the extensions explains that.anttal63 wrote:squizzy wrote:

I am as far as you can be from an expert on pines so I just say what I see without any idea with the reaons for your trees shape. It all helps me understand what I need to do.

All good squizzy im far from any kind of expert too !!! The broader rounded top will give an appearance of greater age and allow drop down branches to fill in some gaps.

G'day Antonio,i will start pumpn up the fert now ready for decandling...
What sorts of fertilisers are you using on your JBP and what frequency?
“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be like water, my friend.”

Hey Sid, this time of the year, this year,I am making up a brew or 1part fish emulsion, 1p worm juice, 1p plant starter and then add the total of these in seasol. I then use 20ml of this brew per a 9 lt watering can and water thoroughly once a week...I use this brew on all my trees on this frequency.siddhar wrote:G'day Antonio, What sorts of fertilisers are you using on your JBP and what frequency?i will start pumpn up the fert now ready for decandling...
With the pines twice a year i sprinkle 1 to 3 pinches of ammonia of sulphate over the soil surface and water in... Beginning of Autumn and middle of Spring. One needs to take alot of care when using this product, too much and things can go wrong. You need to feel confident with the amount you use per size of pot. In this size pot here i may use 3 pinches between my thumb and forfinger and sprinkle like salt. You just want a random coverage around the pot. Safer to do sparingly than otherwise.

Hmm sounds tasty.. Fish emulsion I come across this quite regularly though never know exactly what it is? Like some kind of fish extract??siddhar wrote:1part fish emulsion, 1p worm juice, 1p plant starter and then add the total of these in seasol. 20ml to 9ltr is this on the lighter side or heavier side of fertilizing.. I think I should stick to numbers as I get carried away thinking that the dose isn't strong enough ?
why do you do this (.. learning caps on)siddhar wrote:i sprinkle 1 to 3 pinches of ammonia of sulphate
