Trident Colour

Just a quick snap shot of my trident maple this winter. It has bought out some excellent colour compared to the previous years

That is a cracker of a trident maple. I can only imagine what it will look like in a proper bonsai pot with the nebari exposed.

Its done itself proud this winter hehehe...

Its still need a fair bit of work but I think I'm a little attached to it to swap, it was one of my first trees when I started bonsai.

A Trident to be proud of mate! Enjoy as I understand there's a sentimental attachment to it being one of your first trees. How did you get that colour in Newcastle?

Not sure what I did different but it bought out a beautiful colour. My other trident next to it in no where as impressive colour wise?

Hi Ryan,
My tridents also have much better colour this year. Normally quite muted pastel tones but this year some quite strong reds on many trees.

I'm noticing that generally the trees that are a bit under fed and/or have been under watered a bit during the summer tend to have stronger and earlier autumn colour than those that have been fed well and have had no stress.
