Had a bit of fun

Post by VirulentWaif »

Gosh I have had some fun over the last hour or so :shake: . Re-learnt layering and many other things having a play with Paint.NET. Please what do you think?, now I know its not 'Traditional' or 'Aesthetic' or 'Blah Blah Blah' , it was more to start a file of bits and pieces of trees and bonsai so in future I can throw together a 'Virtual Bonsai' so I have something to work towards with each design. Post your critiques :ugeek: .

Nice work on drawing there, did you start from a tree Pic or from scratch?
Nice textures to the trunk and foliage

That's definitely unique, thought about joining the two trunks so the meet and become one apex???

Thanks Velvet, Maybe not an apex for this one ( to be honest, it is an impossibility, it is a fig stem, with some variety of pine for the leafy matter, I just re-textured the pine trunk to make it actually look similar :tounge: ). But definitely for my next, my partner drew me a bonsai the other day that involves a ying/yang style of growth, one side of the trunk is dead and curving into the middle, the other is living and covered in layered levels of growth, anyway Ill try and find a nice bit of deadwood to make up this design.

I actually learnt how to use the PAINT.NET program that Jamie showed how to use in the virtual design forum. I had forgotten how to layer and so forth, after I studied web design a few long years ago, and it was this picture that I desired to re-teach myself, for it will be useful with my Jewellery design too.
