My Willow Leaf Fig
This is my Willow Leaf Ficus, I've had it for about a year and a half now and I'm thinking it could go for a trunk chop. If you're wondering about the trunk, the previous owner said that the reason for it's state was that it was chewed through by a rat, and somehow survived. It's approx. 45cm tall and I would like some advice on what time to do the chop, and any advice on how to turn the off-cut trunk into a cutting for a new plant.

My grandmother lives in Tanilba Bay, if I can do a successful air layer I'll swap you something for it the next time I visit.

Re: My Willow Leaf Fig
Wait till spring when the temps are over 16deg to chop it

When you chop it. Plant the top into a container of 50/50 Sharp propagating sand / Coir peat and cover with plastic. Make or buy a propagating container to keep the cutting moist.

Thanks Ken, I knew I would have to wait for spring. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
