Thanks guys. The straight section at the top will probably get chopped back harder when I get a bud in the right spot.

2 weeks since the chop and repot...

Nice work, Mr Steven! Great timing (and aftercare, obviously) with the prune/repot. ;)

While you're still in the chopping mood, I thought I might float a quick'n'dirty virtual suggestion your way:

Please keep us posted with this one. Thanks mate!

Bri.

PS: In your latest photo, there is something big and blue in the deep background. What do you call that, and can I get it in Melbourne? :lost:

Today, this is what greeted me after a few days away...

I fertalised my trees with Charlie Calp on Monday and I suspect that this one may have been burnt by it getting on the foliage. The bark on the trunk still appears very much alive so I am hopeful of a recovery :fc:

Nothing worse than seeing a favourite tree do that. Hope it recovers :fc:

:bump:

Did the tree recover from its "Oh Bugger" moment in January?

It was inadvertently fertalised which would have burnt the new roots and shoots. It was flushed with copious amounts of water but unfortunately it never recovered.

On the upside, I now have a spare pot for another tree :tu:

Sad news, Steven. It was such a great little tree.
I had a similar loss, but from an unsuccessful dig from the garden. It was a melaleuca that I put in to fatten the trunk and it grew beautifully. Dug, potted into 500mm pot, and then I watched helplessly as it died over the next many months.

Nice Pat Pot waiting for your next euc.

Sorry to hear, look forward to seeing what is good enough to replace it in such a nice pot.

Thanks Steven,

I got onto this thread from a link to a link to a link, then a search.

Great thread and very well documented, you have also attached (hopefully still available) further helpful links.

Thank-you for your time and efforts in making this available for future enthusiasts.
