Illawarra or Sydney club?

Post by k2bonsai »

ok so i am a newbie to bonsai and in need of some practical hands on advice from more experienced than myself. Reading books and watching videos is one thing, but the missing link is the translation into working effectively with your own trees. I work in the shire but live inner-west, so either f the two mentioned clubs could suit. I would welcome advice please as to which club has a good regular showing at the monthly meetings with knowledgable people willing to share their skills with a newbie.

I have been lucky enough to attend the Illawarra clubs Tops weekend, and found them to very proffesional and fun and informative group.
I would recomend them as a club, there are few of the members here who are also members.

So maybe they can join in, Skippy :!: :D

Lol, i thought of this, but i already play squash 2 nights per week and the Illawarra night is on a monday so i could go after squash. If i was to start filling up all the nights in a week with events my Mrs would hit the roof :palm:

But i may certainly consider it as it will only be 2 days overall in the month and will provide some valuable experience.... You hear of horror stories of men coming home to find their wives have cut a leg off the trousers or arm of each shirt etc... I hope nobody has come home to find their wife had chopped the bonsai's.... :o

I'm a member of two, you don't need to attend every meeting but take the best from both.
If my missus gets upset about my bonsai, I tell her "i could be down the pub!" or "doing up a hot rod and cleaning the carby on the coffee table".

Mick
