Callitris preissii

This species has two common names one is the Rottnest Cypress the other is Aboriginal Maro. It is found all along the coast where it has not been cut down for housing between Perth and Mandurah and of course on Rottnest Island.
Where this tree is subject to good growing conditions without strong coastal winds and salt spray. It grow like a Pine or Juniper it is after all an Australian conifer. Where it is subject to harsh winds and salt spray it grows like this one.
It is like all the other Callitris very easy and forgiving. This one I traded for a Chinese elm I have done quite a bit of work. It was a full cascade and had a lot of neglect so there were quite a few area of dead twigs which are now getting back to good health. This has been 18 months in my care. Hope you like it Pup

Wonderful tree Pup.

So graceful and delicate yet very rugged at the same time.
The way it follows the "rules" of traditional Japanese bonsai and also has a strong Australian feel to it is inspirational.

I absolutely love it however I feel the pot does not do the tree justice.

Thank you steven I feel the same but I have not found one to suit yet. I have been told there is a shipment of Pat Kennedy pots arriving shortly. I might have to wait till I go to the UK next year and have a look. Pup Glad you like it.

G, day Penny can you give me some dimensions please? Also do you have any with feet?.
The one it is in is 200mmssquare tapering to 160mms and 130 mms high. Thanks plain brown no motifs or colours.

These ones are approx 200 x 200 and 120 high. I make a larger size and a smaller size. I can also do a custom order. I have done some for the Kunzea posted in the contest. Chris di Nola has bought one as well.
