Pls help with/info/opinion

Hi!!

I have been looking for a special pot for ages and came across this...

Please can any of my bonsai elders offer me their opinion or relevant info regarding...value...authenticty..origin..chop mark etc

I checked it out on bonsai pot plaza but had no luck identifying it ( I struggle with english sometimes lol let alone asian chracters!!)

It is labeled as a 'new-rare-hard to find-zisha' all sounds great and I think its expensive (well for me anyway)

It says its new ok, so it cant be from the whatever dynasty or cultural revoltion right? Thats about all I can assume right now but would love just any feedback from all you guys who have been doing this since before I was even born! please help this young budding bonsai enthusiats...

I know some may say it comes down to what you think/want...but I do really value all your guys opinions, read most of the topics and look up to your bonsai talents...

I actually think you nailed it with "is it what you like". Personally that pot does nothing for me - I wouldn't buy it even if it was from the Ming Dynsasty It will most likely be a mould product made in China - not very often something is new AND rare as you pointed out

Your bonsai tree is going into it so you have to like the pot -

I guess it shouldn't really matter which era/origin its from - if I like it & it suits the tree, then all systems are go!

I like how the prospect of it being valuable did not change your view of if you like it or not. Awesome !

These are being sold in lots on ebay and it is not a rare find i am sorry to say. A mass produced pot but if you like it what the hey..buy it. Of course, as with all mass produced pots, You will be sure to see quite a few surface with trees in them exactly like yours. It is probably better to go a plain pot, not as loud, then the quality of tree does the talking, not the pot.

What a pity!!! Well my pattern of thinking goes as follows....I have purchased a big old Pear tree (which you may have seen on FeeBay recently) and for some reason when I think of Pear trees, I think of China. So I thought I would get a Chinese pot for it. I think it has distinct Chinese characteristics and the colour...I like too.

I have no pot like it, so it may add a nice contrast to my collection. The size is also very good for my Pear tree (using the pot size rule of thumb-it’s actually pretty much perfect)

Mr bodhidharma...I think I am overdue for a visit to your Bonsai Sanctuary ...perhaps you have a pot for me?

Anything ,if it is old enough, will be valuable one day. I love ww2 swords and have been working my way through the Chinese replicas to get to the real thing. They are really good at making things look like the real deal.
