Trident Maple RoR New Look

Post by Watto »

I have this shohin trident maple that I was training in the root over rock style. It currently stands about 20cm tall and has a reasonable trunk thickness.
After a few failed attempts to graft roots into suitable places I decided that it was time to try a new plan, and that plan was to try a different angle and viewing side.

Thanks for the thoughts Antonio. At the next poting I will "move it down" a bit, but the rock is the issue. The last pic is probably not the best look so today I took another pic with the tree moved just a bit.
I have also included a pic of the side that you prefer Antonio.

Same issue as my Juni 10- 20 mm changes the dynamc so much. Getting the tree in the right pot in the right spot has to be the most difficult thing in Bonsai IMO  Does my head! Having said that the little tweak has improved your new front. :tu:

Thanks for your thoughts, verts and comments. The tree does need a good wiring and that will probably happen in the next Autumn. Until then I will continue to trim any extended growth and fertilize.
