killing pests by full immersion?

Post by soda »

I continue to fight something that is slowly killing a Black Pine. I have found a few tiny grubs, maybe 2-3mm at the dead candle ends. I was wondering if anyone has ever considered or tried full immersion for an hour? A day?

killing pests by full immersion?

I think there a few treads on here re curl grub killing methods. I personally like to remove the beasts in question if the plant is out of the pot then immerse for good measure. A few hours every couple of days should do it

You say they are on the end of the candles? not in the soil?

maybey spray with diluted lime suphur or systemic pesticide but would help to ID if you can get a pic of them

I tried to drown a colony of ants that had taken up residence in the trunk of an old elm, the cheeky b*$^*^$ climbed up the trunk & when the tree was removed from the water they went straight back to their lair..

Confidor or Lorsban will do the job ,as with any insecticide be careful not to do yourself any harm when using it
