[WANTED] Looking for Birthday tree
Hey Guys and girls,
My birthday is coming up in October, and my wife, and family are putting in to get me a tree. I am going to start looking in the near future, but I thought that some one here may have a tree they may want to sell?
I am looking in the Melbourne area. If anyone has a tree they would like to sell, I would love to see some pics and you cam pm me a price if you like?
I hope you can help my cause??
Thanks in advance,
Mac

Re: Looking for Birthday tree
Hey Anttal,
Sorry for the lack of information. Species of tree is not of perticular importance, but I am partial to Figs, Maples, and Conifers.
As for the price, I'd say about the $500 mark. Unfortunatly I don't come from rich breeding stock, and my family is quite small, so I am limited with funds, but I'm confident some one is out there who can help?
I know that I won't get a huge responce, but anything would be appreciated. Or on the other hand, if some one can inform me of where to go I would also be equally greatfull. My normal places for trees is Garden world(over priced), A-Z Bonsai (mainly plant stock), Sashe-eda(poor quality at high price sticks in pots).
Thanks,
Mac

Re: Looking for Birthday tree
thats a fair price to pay for something decent. you should get lots of response on that. 21/06/09 the vic society is having its sale. club sales are always good value trees for your money.

Re: Looking for Birthday tree
Hey Guys,
just thought I'd let you know that my Birthday has been and gone, and I have finally bought a tree with the money I recieved!!
I had a good look around and have taken my time, but I found the one I have been looking for. I even had a little left over for some new tools!!
Here is the Tree in question with the tools that I bought.
The Maxicrop bottle is a 1 letre bottle to give some aspect of size.
The tree from top of pot is 600mm tall and has a 100mm/4" trunk. I have a little work to do on it but all in all, I'm fairly impressed with my
purchase.
Thanks to all those that replied to me on this post and via PM, its appreiciated

Re: Looking for Birthday tree
very nice tree mac, you will enjoy working and improving this one in the future. its already got a nice stance on it. the weight distribution of the canopy works really well with it.

Re: Looking for Birthday tree
Hey Sime76,
I found this nice little gem at Bonsai art in Moorrabbin on Old Dandenong Rd Melbourne, The quality of stock there was amazing. And the small display they had was quite inspiring as well. If you have half a day to waste, and a few dollars to depart with its an idear to drop in some time.
Thanks,
Mac
