Fruiting plum

Just thought I would share this lovely fruiting plum that has just sprung back to life. It was bought a few years back from Bonsai South in Sydney.

I do not think mine survived its hacking back. I has been struggling for the last year, and when I repotted this years found most of the trunk was dead

yep really is nice time, Some tree not started yet, some in full bloom and yet more in new leaf

Lovely tree. I like the way the new long right branch is going. Never would have been game to do it myself. It carries on the sweep of the trunk very well.

Please post when it fruits. Does it colour up in autumn?

What is the variety of the plum in the picture?

I don't know the variety sorry perhaps someone can identify it for me.

Looks like a "Plumcot" which from memory is a cross of two other plums . We sell them as grafted barerooted trees at work

Plumcot is a cross between a plum and an apricot.

How long has Plumcot been around for?
The reason I ask is that I dug some suckers out of my Nan's yard about 4-5 years back. From all conclusions they had sprouted from a small tree which would be around the 30-40 year old mark growing in the yard next door. The cuttings have survived and are in flower with a white single bloom similar to that shown in marlee's post.
Could mine be old rootstock variety (given that I collected root suckers)

Yes Annttal Leong does have beautiful trees. Highly recommended by me. Not sure about the plumcot. I never get to see fruit it disappears before then. BIrds love my backyard!
