White Pine (non grafted)

Post by Edward Scissorhand »

Yesterday I got a new tree. Its a non grafted white pine I got from Ant (ausbonsai member). Its a slow grower so its nice to do a longterm progression on Ausbonsai. Ant has taken care of it since 2006 and I have to say he has done a bloody fantastic job as its really nice and healthy. I was also surprised to find alot of ramification on it already.

Hi Fex, I think this one is an ungrafted Japanese white pine. Generally the ungrafted ones have alittle bit more yellow in their foliage compared to the grafted ones. Is your pine grafted?

You dont have to think Eddie its definately not grafted, i think its Zuisho in Variety. The new growth will be darker richer greeny blue how ever Zuisho is not as much as others. What it does have is smaller needles.

Yes Fex there is a beautiful shohin in the first and or second branch !!! :tu:

Interesting, I didn't realise Zuisho was in Australia

You have to make some cuttings!
