Re: FLORIADE 2012 in Canberra
Floriade was launched today. We will be open to the public every day for the next 30 days from 9 till 5 (5:30 on weekends and public holidays).
We had a big launch with some politicians and important people. The most recognisable was Jamie Durie.
The opening tomorrow gives the NBPCA a chance to showcase some brilliant bonsai from various growers around Australia.
We currently have some very large bonsai that may have been seen at the Melbourne AABC Convention in May, we have some brilliant minis from Sydney, and our wonderful permanent trees, some of which will be coming into flower during the course of Floriade.
Floriade has a massive schedule of entertainment which can be viewed here : http://www.floriadeaustralia.com/
Dont forget, aswell, the Canberra Bonsai Society will be hosting their annual Spring show in early October: http://www.cbs.org.au

Of course the work of maintaining the trees goes on during Floriade.
This is one of the most photographed bonsai in the collection except when something else is flowering. The public is always a sucker for flowering trees.
We got this tree into really good health last year and are now thinning it out and balancing the vigour.
