New trident maple with a twist

Hi All have not seen a maple with a twist likethis before had to have it 5 yrs old

just repotted it today hoping to get some thickness out of the trunk any ideas please ?

Hi Meagi, if you are wanting to fatten up the trunk then it might be a good idea to put that trident into a box or if you have the space in the ground.
To start getting some taper you could remove everything above the third branch and make the third branch the new leader.

Your pot looks big enough for this growing season. Perhaps a pinch of blood and bone and lots of water will see it grow.

Very nice twist but know I need to trim some where just unsure where yet
