Deciduous nursery starter/ stock Progression
I thought I would do a deciduous tree starter or stock progressions of my deciduous trees.
I will leave some shoots long so I can take cuttings. One day I will use these cuttings to thread some roots or approach graft some roots, we'll see, until then.

Hi Andrew
Have you ever thought about making the back the front.
To me it is more appealing.

Next time you repot put in some root cuttings. Zelkova is related to elms and grows quite easily as root cuttings.

@Fae: I have considered it, but being a mere male.....I must admit I do love the raw sensuous curves of the front.
@Shibui: Thanks Shibui for the tip, much appreciated!

Oak progression
This is an old oak with large leaves. I cut the tree back a couple of times in the past. After thinking over it some time, I am going to go for a windswept look. The windswpt look will be more pronounced as the years go by with ramifications, I hope.

Hi Edward Scissorhand , you have got some nice material there . I certainly like where the Chinese Elm ROR is heading . Good to see root cutting used to their full potential, i assume they are root cuttings .
Cheers Alpine

Re: Deciduous nursery starter/ stock Progression
@Alpine: Hi Alpine, it does look like root cuttings. But it was just a starter stock that I grew initially in a very tall pot.
@Chrisatrocky: Dammit Chris, now I might have to change my ideas because I like your one better!! Thanks for the vert!
