So happy with my flowering tree this year thought I would share it. It really has given a good show.

Hi Marleey73, i love azaleas' as bonsai but have always struggled to get the bonsai blend right . I hope this season its a winner of i will loose some serious stock . Any chance you could pop up a bigger pic as it a little hard to get a good eyeball at the flowers , you may have reduced the pic too much ? . Thanks for posting .
Cheers Alpineart.

Nice flowers Marley.
Mine here have all but finished
.
does the rest of the tree have any structure?
As azaleas only have flowers fro a short time each year, I like mine to have nice branch and trunk structure so that they look like a Bonsai out of flowering time
Ken.

Beautiful flowers, I would question whether it is Alphonse Anderson though, as yours looks to be a double whereas A.A. is a large single.

Re: Alfonse Anderson Rhodo - Azalea in Flower
Was told by a Glenorie Rhodo and Azaela company it was an Alphonse but I also was doubtful Can you tell me what variety it is? It is really beautiful in flower. I did buy an Alfonse Anderson from the Glenorie place so will see when it comes into flower. Many thanks to you all.

Sorry Lisa you have done well and much better than me. It seems to be a man's domain in the bonsai world although there are a few women who are well known. I am going to get into trouble for this one arn't I? Love this forum.

It could be a sport of Alphonse Anderson called Kalimna Pearl which is a double. http://floramedia.immij.com.au/p/7641/tkap
Yours also looks like it is sporting back to the purple "Magnifica" that it came from originally.
